Accessibility

Edumate exists so that opportunity doesn't depend on circumstance, and that includes how this site itself works. Inclusive isn't a feature here; it's the design. It's also why accessibility features in Edumate Grow are free for everyone, always.

What's in place today

  • Keyboard navigation. Everything works without a mouse: real links and buttons throughout, a skip-to-content link, and a logical tab order.

  • Visible focus. A clear focus outline shows where you are on every interactive element, never removed, never invisible.

  • Reduced motion respected. If your device asks for reduced motion, the site's gentle animations simply don't run. Nothing depends on them.

  • Semantic structure. Proper landmarks, one main heading per page and a meaningful heading order, so screen readers can move around the way they expect.

  • Contrast-checked colours. Our calm palette is tuned so text meets WCAG AA contrast; we darkened our own brand shades where they fell short, and automated checks now guard this on every change.

  • Readable typography. A clean, highly legible typeface for body text, generous sizes and line spacing, short line lengths, sentence case and no justified text, choices that help many readers, including dyslexic readers.

The standard we aim for

We aim for WCAG 2.1 AA across the site. Automated accessibility checks run on every change we make, and they block anything that introduces a serious failure. Automated checks can't catch everything, though. So we keep reviewing by hand, and we listen.
